Numerical simulation of RC frames infilled with RC walls for seismic strengthening of existing structures

Although it is evident that the RC infill wall an economic and practical way to improve lateral strength of framed structures a retrofitting method for existing buildings withstand earthquake loads, there are still lot limitations regarding their application. Codes do not provide any guidance design detailing or specific regulations interaction with bounding frame. Furthermore, directions exist modelling evaluation frame bays converted into walls, depending on type details connection. A representation real behaviour its during necessary more accurate guiding information. For this aim, numerical models structural system were developed presented in paper. The experimental results project SERFIN, which was full-scale four-storey model tested pseudo-dynamic at ELSA facility Joint Research Centre Ispra, used calibrate models.
